WDVGE has utilized its extensive core and log database to prepare best-in-class maps for each major US onshore unconventional play. Properties mapped include structure, isopach, porosity/saturation, mineralogy, organic matter/maturity and in-place volumes. These properties are modeled using multimineral models built in Techlog and incorporate advanced log measurements such as elemental spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance and dielectric logs.
Using the Petrel platform, WDVGE employs facies modeling and multimineral petrophysics performed on openhole well logs to populate three-dimensional models. With such models, WDVGE is able to evaluate both vertical and lateral heterogeneity, using such information to optimize landing zones and multi-well developments.
